Internet Advertising Methods

If you own an online business, you have to know what
Internet advertising method works for you and you have to
decide on which methods you should use. There are expensive
methods as well as inexpensive methods that you can use to
promote your online business. Each and every single method
mentioned in this article could be a subject of its own.
To keep things simple, each method will be explained in a
very simple way. Well, the bottom line is: what are you going
to avail of - the expensive Internet advertising methods or
the cheap ones?

Here's the low down and a comparative look on the cheap and
expensive Internet advertising methods:

The Expensive:

  1. Run A Per Per Click Campaign

    What is pay per click? How does this one work? When
    someone  types in a keyword related to your site, your
    advertisement is automatically included in the search result
    page. You pay an agreed amount to search engine for each
    click delivered to your website. The cost per click depends
    on which keyword you are using to promote your website.

    Some keywords could be as low as USD$0.05 whereas some 
    could cost you USD$8, $10 or ever more. Imagine If you have
    hundreds or thousands of keywords to bid on search engine
    and you have a very high click through rate for those keywords.
    It could cost you a fortune. However, your website receive
    more targeted traffic because only people who are interested
    in your ad would click on it.

  2. Pod Cast Advertising Campaign

    What is pod cast? The distribution of audio or video files
    over the internet using either RSS or Atom syndication for
    listening on mobile devices and personal computers is called
    podcasting. A user can collect programs from a variety of
    sources for listening or viewing off-line, whenever and
    wherever is convenient by subscribing to podcasts. In
    contrast, traditional broadcasting provides only one source
    at a time, and the time is broadcaster-specified.

    Pod cast is one sophisticated Internet advertising method
    that can somehow hamper your budget. Because of podcasting
    is about creating audio or video content for an audience that
    wants to listen when they want, where they want, and how they
    want, the results of a podcasting campaign could worth the
    money.

     
  3. Ezine Advertising

    What is ezine advertising? There are three types of ads that
    you can place in your chosen ezine: a classified ad, a sponsor
    ad, and a solo ad. The classified ad, a three to five line ad,
    is the smallest and least expensive. A sponsor ad, ten to
    fifteen line ad, is placed at the top of the ezine. The most
    expensive is the solo ad. A solo ad is sent out as an email
    to everyone on the mailing list. It could be as long as 700
    words.

    A classified ad would normally cost you a few dollar, generally
    about half the cost of a sponsor ad. A solo ad could cost
    hundreds, even thousands of dollar depend on the size of the
    ezine. Ezine advertising is the most targeted form of
    advertising on the internet. A good ezine advertising campaign
    could bring you good results.

  1. Pixel Advertising

    What is pixel advertising? The idea is that a website is
    divided into 10,000 of 100-pixel blocks. You can purchase
    these 100-pixel blocks for $100 per block. That's $1 for a
    pixel. Once you own these pixels, you can then display an
    image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased.
    This image/ad/logo contains a link to your website. The
    pixels you buy will be displayed on the website for at least
    a few years.

    Your ads will be on the pixel website for a few years. This give
    your online business the exposure it needs.

    This ingenious idea comes from Alex Tew and he owns the

  2. Pop-ups and derivatives

    The implementation cost of pop up is cheap. The pop-up
    window containing an advertisement is usually generated by
    JavaScript.

    The pop-up windows will draw your visitor attention. However,
    these windows on your website will also distract your visitor.
    Bad implementation of pop ups could be annoying because
    pop-up windows will keep popping up. So a thorough test is
    needed before you put your pop up on your website.

    There are derivatives of pop-ups such as pop under, exit pop
    and  impact note. These derivatives serve as alternatives to
    traditional pop-ups.

     
  3. Participate in Forum / Online Communities

    The great thing about forums and online communities is 
    that you can target a certain group that fits the certain
    demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss 
    about lots of things about the niche that you represent or
    offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you 
    are getting into and you will be prepared.

    With online communities and forums you can build a
    reputation for your company. Show them what you are made
    of and wow them with your range of expertise about the 
    subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust
    with the people in your expertise and knowledge. Once the
    trust is there, it would be easier for you to close a deal.
    People are more comfortable buying things from someone
    they trust.

     

  4. Article Marketing

    How does this work? Write articles relating to your website
    and submit them to article directory, websites, and ezine
    publishers. This is one of the easiest ways to promote your
    online business in order to generate traffic and increase
    your earnings.

    The articles you write should be very informative, providing
    the reader with information that is relevant to a specific
    topic. The article usually includes the 'About The Author'
    information at the bottom. This is called the author
    biography. Inside the the author biography, you should
    include, a link to a webpage for more information. The
    webpage, of course, is designed to sell a product or
    service that relates to the topic of the article.

    This is one of the most effective ways to market a service
    or product on the Internet, and it can become even more
    effective when it is combined with the use of an
    autoresponder.

     
  5. Free Ebook Marketing

    Free Ebooks marketing is a very powerful marketing method.
    The real power behind free ebook marketing is the
    viral aspect of it.

    You write an ebook on your subject and offer it free on your
    website. Included in your ebook you're going to have links back
    to your website, product or affiliate program. Your website
    visitors would like a free ebook with valuable information.
    They'll download the ebook you offer. The more of your website
    visitors that download your free ebook the more free exposure
    and repeat visitors you'll get.

Cheap versus expensive, that's always the question that hounds on
whenever we're trying to get something. In the field of Internet
advertising, just be wise enough to figure out what will suit your
needs. Go for what you want as long as there are visible results.
